Borys Lepper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Tolek Maziarski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spartans Lodz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. After a rather tough play, Spartans Lodz's Tolek Maziarski got a free kick in the 8th minute. Ryszard Obuchowicz kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Borys Lepper left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Spartans Lodz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 20th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 25 minutes of play, Spartans Lodz's Borys Lepper made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 29 minutes, Chris Mergenthaler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Spartans Lodz players grew even worse after the yellow card. Borys Lepper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 41 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Borys Lepper came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute Iwan Ostrowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iwan Ostrowski took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Spartans Lodz's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Holweck came free, but Procopio Trespalacios reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iwan Ostrowski in the 54th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Spartans Lodz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andris Kapenieks to maneuver through the defense. After 62 played minutes, Germany's Frank Sachs shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Procopio Trespalacios came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Germany reached it. 64 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Borys Lepper came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Borys Lepper in the 76th minute of play. When Pierre-Emmanuel Agostini fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spartans Lodz's protests and gave Pierre-Emmanuel Agostini a yellow card for diving instead.
