Quilmes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Javiar to maneuver through the defense. If Toralf Eichler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Javiar hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The supporters of 1. FC Hüls booed when C.A. Quilmes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Parente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quilmes's goalkeeper Fermin Hulberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Froilan Eusko in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ekkehard Paroth saved 1. FC Hüls from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Froilan Eusko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by C.A. Quilmes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Radim Reckle was slow to take the kick. During this time 1. FC Hüls's players had a chance to rest. Loris Bornemann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Fermin Hulberto made a huge save. Fermin Hulberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicco Rinnerer in the 69th minute of play. Froilan Eusko succeeded in the game's 71st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. The audience was convinced that Froilan Eusko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ekkehard Paroth was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Loris Bornemann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1.
