A collision led to União São José FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Marco de Salles hit a great ball. Frank Peletier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 22 played minutes União São José FC got a freekick which was hit by Sandro de Queiroz. France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Barbier in the 26th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Peletier in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lauro da Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro de Queiroz in the 32nd minute of play. Cláudio Loyola was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Frank Peletier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Luiz Corrêa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maxime Durand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. União São José FC's Lauro da Silveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save União São José FC from getting a goal against them. Frank Peletiers short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Lauro da Silveira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luiz Corrêa in the 72nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Peletier got free with Lauro da Silveira in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frank Peletier in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lauro da Silveira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
