When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Kyle Cox took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Lauro da Silveira to make any attempt to save it. England's Khalid Kennedy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luiz Corrêa in the 25th minute of play. Khalid Kennedy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Kyle Cox might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lauro da Silveira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kyle Cox ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Micah Macdonald got free with Lauro da Silveira in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Kyle Cox made the kick off in the second half. Micah Macdonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro da Silveira having to interfere. Lauro da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Micah Macdonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to England getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Micah Macdonald hit a great ball. When England's Kyle Cox in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 84th minute, Seth Young hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cláudio Loyola received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Khalid Kennedy came out and tried to block the shot, but Cláudio Loyola slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 91st minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. União São José FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
