Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ton Eschendaal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kryspin Dulka saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mathijn Doctor's late challenge caught a Ruch Pniów's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mathijn Doctor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathijn Doctor to maneuver through the defense. Rafal Dropinski, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 35th minute of play forced Ruch Pniów's goalkeeper Kryspin Dulka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match Rafal Dropinski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 47th minute, Ton Eschendaal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ruch Pniów fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 76th minute of play forced Ruch Pniów's goalkeeper Kryspin Dulka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grabiel Saracha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Arnout Reekers firmly grabbed it by the left post. 83 minutes in the game Kees Mooiweer did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gijsbert ter Kruimer. Mathijn Doctor was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 94th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Wilmes to maneuver through the defense. Kryspin Dulka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 96th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
