Angelo Melani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the game, Qiao Lei Quan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Melani having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorian Colle to make the kick off. When Netherlands's Wim Wilmes in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Gustaaf Groeneveldt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Melani having to make a save. Girondins4Ever made a substitution. Igor Thibault replaced Dorian Colle. After a rather tough play, Girondins4Ever's Sefa Borlu got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelo Melani skillfully saved the ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean-Pascal Rouge in the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Igor Thibault.
