Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Pete Sampras got the match started through his kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vincent Linberg in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maxime Durand saved France from getting behind. France's David Barbier got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aron Dahlbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remy Dupuy in the 8th minute of the match. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Peletier in the 9th minute of play. When Greger Broberg fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAFFIAN's protests and gave Greger Broberg a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, MAFFIAN's Greger Broberg got a free kick in the 11th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vincent Linberg during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 14th minute, Vincent Linberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camille Baume recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Camille Baume recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. MAFFIAN were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after France's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Börje Frisk took the corner. Alf Säfström's late challenge caught a France's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alf Säfström helped the player get up and apologised. Alf Säfström kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Frank Peletier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Camille Baume sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alex Vallin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Maxime Durand came out and tried to block the shot, but Alex Vallin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 32nd minute. France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Barbier in the 36th minute. The corner ended in Robert Chapuis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom did a great save. After 38 minutes MAFFIAN's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Barbier who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of MAFFIAN's goalie and right to Robert Chapuis. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. MAFFIAN's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 40 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by Alex Vallin. With a little luck, France's Maxime Durand got control of the ball when Pete Sampras tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Frank Peletier made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by Patrik Zachrisson. France's David Barbier got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, France's Quentin Beaux got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 54th minute, Pete Sampras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. MAFFIAN made a substitution. Kristoffer Nyberg replaced Alf Säfström. Kristoffer Nyberg made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by France's Remy Dupuy. Camille Baume recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th match minute, MAFFIAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Wilander to maneuver through the defense. Kristoffer Nyberg made in the 69th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Stig-Arne Skålberg immediately put the ball in play. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pete Sampras's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. France's Remy Dupuy quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Kristoffer Nyberg, made in the 76th minute of the game. Frank Peletier who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Aron Dahlbom when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Frank Peletier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aron Dahlbom was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. In the 81st minute of the match, Frank Peletier got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aron Dahlbom was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. France's Camille Baume suffered a sore thigh after 82 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The supporters of France booed when MAFFIAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Frisk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute Pete Sampras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
