One of Bornova:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Netherlands:s goal. Tarık İnanç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fernando Dracena made a kick off. In the last second Tarık İnanç throw himself and got hold of the ball when Wim Wilmes in the 54thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 56th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Tarık İnanç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arif Burak Saygur during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Bornova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arif Burak Saygur didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th match minute, Bornova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beyhan Oğuztüzün to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet Nafiz Özilter kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bornova. Bornova's Tarık İnanç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tarık İnanç. The goal made the score 2-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Dracena in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, David Eikelkamp put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Tarık İnanç. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tarık İnanç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tarık İnanç didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wim Wilmes went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score.
