In the 7th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ye Zheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wim Wilmes hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Gwidon Cichocki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ye Zheng. Ye Zheng dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ye Zheng saved Flamenco United from getting behind. Ye Zheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. David Eikelkamp struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Ye Zheng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Camillo Mercuri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bircan Serdar, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Ye Zheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Flamenco United's Cheng Gang Wen got a free kick in the 50th minute. 52 minutes into the match, Flamenco United's goalkeeper Ye Zheng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bas Tuitert in the 57th minute of play forced Flamenco United's goalkeeper Ye Zheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute Tran Hauwaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cheng Gang Wen's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cheng Gang Wen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Flamenco United's Cheng Gang Wen got a free kick in the 64th minute. Flamenco United made a substitution. Ben Ryers replaced Benne Beaufort. With a little luck, Flamenco United's Ye Zheng got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ye Zheng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathijn Doctor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flamenco United's Ye Zheng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 73rd minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tran Hauwaerts in the 75th minute of play. Yanick Schautens might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yanick Schautens ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 82nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Meesters to maneuver through the defense. After 90 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Egbert Nijveldt. In the 93rd match minute, Flamenco United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yanick Schautens to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Eikelkamp during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
