Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wieslaw Kolano, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Duman Temizcan came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's late challenge caught a La Git!'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustaaf Groeneveldt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustaaf Groeneveldt to maneuver through the defense. Bayındır Balıkçıoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Wim Wilmes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duman Temizcan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Leopoldo Manta succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 88th playminute. A collision led to La Git! getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Sagi Bek hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Manta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Netherlands fans cheered their team off the field, for while La Git! had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
