The MEL - ULTIMATE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henrique Arruda should have stopped the shot. Edward Vanderstraeten who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Henrique Arruda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, MEL - ULTIMATE's Henrique Arruda got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renan Valladares in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casper Claes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Jailson Fernandez sped through Belgium's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Casper Claes. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Henrique Arruda made a huge save. In the 33rd minute Jailson Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Fernandez in the 38th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nigel Devos during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Belgium fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Renan Valladares took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casper Claes. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Henrique Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiliam Marinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrique Arruda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head.
