The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Lars Meesters. Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, C.A.River Plate's Veto Pañeda got a free kick in the 55th minute. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Sun Shi Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein made a huge save. 63 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein, 1-1. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Talha Özakan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein made a huge save. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 79th minute. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein quite easily take care of the ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sun Shi Xi in the 81st minute of play. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. The supporters of C.A.River Plate booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
