After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. In the 23rd minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robby Woody, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Major Barna might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percy Fernandez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Major Barna ran back to his position shaking his head. Percy Fernandez made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. If Robby Woody had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Dong Yang Bang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Dong Yang Bang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th match minute, Hungary was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Katona Janos to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Woody came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Hungary players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sport Clube Recife were winning 0-2.

Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Takacs Tibor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Percy Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sport Clube Recife's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Antal Valentin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez did a great save. Percy Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualter Penha got free with Fodor Daniel in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute, Major Barna made a precise shot to the right of Percy Fernandez. Sport Clube Recife's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 80th minute of play forced Sport Clube Recife's goalkeeper Percy Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 87th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Nurkan Semdin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
