The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabricio Andrade to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute Dabi Vila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dabi Vila in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcio Martinez in the 35th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcio Martinez, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edelmiro Calvo in the 38th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. The corner led Portugal's Daniel Pimentel to fire away a dangerous shot which Albano Unzueta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 1-1 became the score in the 73rd minute when Bartolomeu Dias elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 77 minutes into the game, Nereo Cacheres recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim. Nereo Cacheres showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Albano Unzueta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 81st minute of play. Albano Unzueta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caetano Moreira went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Los once leones Ourense's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Pimentel took the corner. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
