Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. David Prada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Viana in the 13th minute of play. David Prada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, SANFINS VLP's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but David Prada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but David Prada in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arnout Reekers stood somewhat misplaced when Zhuang Fan Zhen came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 26 minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Eduardo Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 28 minutes, Eduardo Viana made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudio Caniggia in the 38th minute. David Eikelkamp struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. David Prada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When Basílio Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the SANFINS VLP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Silveira couldn't finish the play. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SANFINS VLP's David Prada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save SANFINS VLP from getting a goal against them. With his leg David Prada managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 90th minute. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this David Prada quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 90th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with David Prada in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th match minute, SANFINS VLP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. Netherlands's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
