With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Pascual Macia tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Felipe Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Barreto couldn't finish the play. In the 16th match minute, Red Hawk Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víctor Álvarez to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Caetano to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Moura in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Canyelles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carles Miramont in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Canyelles. After 44 played minutes Red Hawk Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Joan Canosa. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caetano Moreira took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albert Canyelles. Albert Canyelles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Red Hawk Football Club booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Pimentel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Macia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Pascual Macia came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Red Hawk Football Club fans jumped to their feet. In the 87thth minute of the game Ferran Planes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Aleix Rosanes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Aleix Rosanes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joan Canosa hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Red Hawk Football Club supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
