The audience was convinced that Karol Lampa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karol Lampa in the 5th minute of play. Matthew McKail showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Daniel Pimentel hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute, Bruno Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yana Brolin in the 24th minute of the match. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Matthew McKail made a huge save. Bruno Bastos hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karol Lampa to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 93 minutes, Fabricio Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabricio Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
