Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hahay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hahay's Espen Granerud did a great save. Espen Granerud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hahay's Remigiusz Pachucki got a free kick in the 13th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Hahay's zone, David Eikelkamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Espen Granerud came out of the goal and David Eikelkamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Espen Granerud. Espen Granerud dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 32nd minute of play forced Hahay's goalkeeper Espen Granerud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Espen Granerud. Espen Granerud dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Kees Mooiweer hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Arkadiusz Walec could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Arnout Reekers however easily saved by the left post. In the 45th play minute Krzysztof Soroka came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Arnout Reekers. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Hahay's Espen Granerud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Hahay from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Espen Granerud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Arkadiusz Walec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konrad Huk in the 72nd minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Hahay's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Espen Granerud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Espen Granerud however easily saved by the left post. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
