In the 12th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zula Kosiorek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zula Kosiorek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Omar Toledo's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Spain got a corner. Szczakowianka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedykt Perkowski to make the kick off. If Wladyslaw Magdziarz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zula Kosiorek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Ruiz in the 90th minute of the match. Zula Kosiorek made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Carles Cherro sent off a good shot on target.
