A throw-in in the 9th minute of the game was made by Fabricio Andrade with Viriato Moura as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 11 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's Florencio Herbella sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pimentel came free, but Jaunzuria Luyando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Florencio Herbella sent off a good shot on target. Florencio Herbella could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 23rd minute of play forced Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Jaunzuria Luyando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Herbella in the 24th minute of play. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Herbella in the 26th minute of the match. Atletico Maturrango's Marcial Zuazna managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fabricio Andrade in the 32 minute of the game. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Florencio Herbella tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Florencio Herbella ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Moura in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaunzuria Luyando saved Atletico Maturrango from getting behind. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Bruno Bastos hit a great ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Florencio Herbella who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Jaunzuria Luyando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaunzuria Luyando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jaunzuria Luyando having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Jaunzuria Luyando in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felipe Barreto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Jaunzuria Luyando skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice moves Graciano Coutinho could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Jaunzuria Luyando however easily saved by the left post. The Portugal players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
