In the 13th match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurens Vandamme to maneuver through the defense. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrej Karásek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yves Dervaux hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Tibor Surovec succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Dezider Šindelka in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Andrej Karásek came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ondřej Krofta struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Barcelona.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrej Karásek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Casper Claes made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Jan Plocek sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to FC Barcelona getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jan Plocek hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dezider Šindelka narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dezider Šindelka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 65th minute of play. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dragan Horčička in the 69th minute of play. In the 73rd minute Yves Dervaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dezider Šindelka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tibor Surovec in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. Yves Dervaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dezider Šindelka having to interfere. In the 78th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dezider Šindelka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten made a precise shot to the right of Dezider Šindelka. FC Barcelona's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Belgium's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
