When Timo Siegmund fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Switzerland's protests and gave Timo Siegmund a yellow card for diving instead. 3 minutes into the game, Henley on Thames United's Edgar Iovanovici nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hias Nüssli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 6 minutes into the match, Kristian Ottaway had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hias Nüssli. Switzerland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristian Ottaway was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 13thth minute of the game Edgar Iovanovici who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Switzerland's Hias Nüssli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Kristian Ottaway struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Hias Nüssli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Henley on Thames United. In the 21st minute Kristian Ottaway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Kristian Ottaway put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Hias Nüssli. Edgar Iovanovici struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Hias Nüssli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Henley on Thames United. Kristian Ottaway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hias Nüssli having to interfere. Edgar Iovanovici scored 0-4 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hias Nüssli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute, Kristian Ottaway made a precise shot to the right of Hias Nüssli. Switzerland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. In the 46th minute, Kristian Ottaway left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Henley on Thames United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

The wind increased when Samuele Kunz made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Kristian Ottaway took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Hias Nüssli to make any attempt to save it. Henley on Thames United's Edgar Iovanovici got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Henley on Thames United's Kristian Ottaway sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hias Nüssli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristian Ottaway, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 64 minutes, Kristian Ottaway made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Kristian Ottaway took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Hias Nüssli to make any attempt to save it. In the 74th minute, Edgar Iovanovici reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hias Nüssli. The goal made the score 0-12. Edgar Iovanovicis short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Hias Nüssli to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 80th minute Kristian Ottaway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81st play minutes Edgar Iovanovici shot 0-13, a short shot which went by Hias Nüssli and just under the crossbar into goal. Henley on Thames United's Kris Tetley was substituted for Edgar Iovanovici. A collision led to Henley on Thames United getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Alexander Longthorn hit a great ball. After 89 minutes of play, Henley on Thames United's Kristian Ottaway made it 0-14 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hias Nüssli was left in no man's land by his defense there! 93 minutes into the match, Kristian Ottaway dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hias Nüssli, 0-15. The Henley on Thames United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Henley on Thames United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
