In the 40th minute of the match, Lorenz De Paula tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tommy Kahn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 42 minutes into the game, Charidimos Papandreou cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Øyvind Rovik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1.
