The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Aderbal Santos in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edward Vanderstraeten took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aderbal Santos. Aderbal Santos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lenny Clocheret during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Straedelburgh booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenny Clocheret didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aderbal Santos made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Yves Dervaux sent off a good shot on target. After 35 minutes of play, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aderbal Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Clocheret to maneuver through the defense. Straedelburgh's Aderbal Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Dervaux in the 46th minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aderbal Santos firmly grabbed it by the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 92nd minute, Edward Vanderstraeten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Belgium fully deserved thier win.
