A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 10 minutes into the game, one of Netherlands:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arnout Reekers went to the wrong direction when Adriano Ribeiro was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The Obscurials's Safet Hands proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save The Obscurials from getting a goal against them. Nicasio Guillen lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for The Obscurials! 20 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Safet Hands was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 24 minutes into the match, The Obscurials's goalkeeper Safet Hands had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. When Adriano Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the The Obscurials fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. Safet Hands made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Safet Hands was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Ribeiro in the 46th minute of play. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Safet Hands didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustaaf Groeneveldt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the The Obscurials defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Safet Hands. The The Obscurials fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Safet Hands should have stopped the shot. 54 minutes into the match, David Eikelkamp notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of The Obscurials's Safet Hands. Safet Hands was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 57th minute of play forced The Obscurials's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 minutes of play, Netherlands's Lars Meesters made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Safet Hands was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 66 played minutes The Obscurials got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Lyle. The Obscurials's Michel Platini was substituted for Cliff Rowden. Kevin Lyle kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. The supporters of The Obscurials booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Wilmes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Arnout Reekers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 77 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Ribeiro came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Meesters in the 79th minute of play forced The Obscurials's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, The Obscurials's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Safet Hands reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Safet Hands came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. After 93 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert ter Kruimer. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Netherlands fully deserved thier win.
