After a defensive mix-up in KS Piastów Sosnowiec's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomasz Piwko came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The KS Piastów Sosnowiec players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stelian Joldea made a kick off. After 57 played minutes KS Piastów Sosnowiec got a freekick which was hit by Reşat Rasif. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tomasz Piwko firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 59th minute Reşat Rasif shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Joldea in the 62nd minute of play. With a little luck, KS Piastów Sosnowiec's Tomasz Piwko got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind KS Piastów Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Tomasz Piwko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lars Meesters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomasz Piwko having to interfere. Tomasz Piwko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute of the match, Lars Meesters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tomasz Piwko saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. It was a well-played corner which Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 86th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lars Meesters kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Mathijn Doctor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, KS Piastów Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Tomasz Piwko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Stelian Joldea managed to get in a good position for a shot. KS Piastów Sosnowiec's supporters rose to their feet, but Stelian Joldea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
