Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esquadrão Lusitano. Everton Cebollero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wilson Amorim came out and tried to block the shot, but Everton Cebollero slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Almodovar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Esquadrão Lusitano defense, Felipe Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin Almodovar. The Esquadrão Lusitano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Almodovar should have stopped the shot. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Concetto Chelodi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Portugal's Felipe Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edwin Almodovar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 26th minute of play forced Esquadrão Lusitano's goalkeeper Edwin Almodovar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stefan Niziolek in the 31st minute. 38 minutes into the match, Esquadrão Lusitano's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Edwin Almodovar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 minutes Esquadrão Lusitano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. In the 41st minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Almodovar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonso Pinhal made in the 42nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Everton Cebollero. Afonso Pinhal hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Caetano Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. Esquadrão Lusitano's Edwin Almodovar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Esquadrão Lusitano from getting a goal against them. After 53 minutes Esquadrão Lusitano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Portugal's Felipe Barreto to fire away a dangerous shot which Edwin Almodovar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Everton Cebollero in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute, Graciano Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everton Cebollero in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Niziolek came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Barreto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edwin Almodovar firmly grabbed it by the left post. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Everton Cebollero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edwin Almodovar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 79th minute of the match. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Esquadrão Lusitano's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Pimentel took the corner. Edwin Almodovar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 83rd minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Chelodi came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute Everton Cebollero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipinho Amorim did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Edwin Almodovar 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Portugal eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
