In the 9th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hong Qing was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 11th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Netherlands's Lars Meesters getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Marinelli in the 12th minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Marinelli in the 15th minute of play. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Hong Qing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 18th minute of play. Egbert Nijveldt's late challenge caught a Club Atlético Lea Papá's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Egbert Nijveldt helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Netherlands fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Netherlands's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raúl Gordillo was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Atlético Lea Papá's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Michal Jehlička got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnout Reekers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Anton Donose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Jehlička, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Donose in the 31st minute of play. Hong Qing made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Eikelkamp in the 35th minute. Hong Qing made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands's Egbert Nijveldt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hong Qing in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Donose went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anton Donose was the one to do the kick off. Hong Qing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 51st minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Marinelli in the 55th minute of play. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Marcelo Carracedo was substituted for Alan Marinelli. Gust Ennemans hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Club Atlético Lea Papá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Barrientos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Hong Qing didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Jehlička, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hong Qing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hong Qing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Hong Qing was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hong Qing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 90th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Club Atlético Lea Papá walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
