Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Aquile Azzurre's Dinç Dede slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilson Amorim. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. In the 19th minute, FC Aquile Azzurre's Hardy Zingg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hardy Zingg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Aquile Azzurre protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hardy Zingg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 20th match minute, FC Aquile Azzurre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hardy Zingg to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dinç Dede was the one to do the kick off. Damiano Mucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 54th minute of play. Rodolfo Miranda hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Damiano Mucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. The throw-in from Augusto Graziani in the 67th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. In the 74th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damiano Mucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Bianco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Aquile Azzurre's Damiano Mucci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save FC Aquile Azzurre from getting a goal against them. FC Aquile Azzurre's Alex Buffone was substituted for Osvaldinho Queirós. FC Aquile Azzurre's João Francisco Correia was substituted for Wu Fei. FC Aquile Azzurre's Carlo Borgatello was substituted for Federico Bianco. Portugal's Graciano Coutinho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alex Buffone, made in the 84th minute of the game. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
