The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vavrinec Holub didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stoicii. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Alan Rezek hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Denis Dostal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the game, Claudiu Popescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vavrinec Holub. Claudiu Popescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Erik Jilek hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexandru Zaki. Edgar Mititelu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Dostal in the 26th minute of play. Czech Republic's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Erik Jilek in the 27th minute. Erik Jilek made a great header on Czech Republic's corner, it was just that Stoicii's Edgar Mititelu managed to reach the ball for a save. Alan Rezek hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The supporters of Stoicii booed when Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Jilek didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Denis Dostal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Jilek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgar Mititelu having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandru Zaki got free with Vavrinec Holub in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 48 minutes, Alexandru Zaki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stoicii's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandru Zaki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Vavrinec Holub made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudiu Popescu in the 52nd minute of play. Kvetoslav Janku's late challenge caught a Stoicii's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 64th minute Claudiu Popescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavrinec Holub saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandru Zaki in the 68th minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vavrinec Holub took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandru Zaki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Claudiu Popescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandru Zaki came free, but Vavrinec Holub reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelian Dragomir kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. With a little luck, Stoicii's Edgar Mititelu got control of the ball when Denis Dostal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vavrinec Holub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Zaki, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Czech Republic's Vavrinec Holub played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandru Zaki in the 93rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Alexandru Zaki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stoicii's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandru Zaki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vavrinec Holub breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stoicii's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
