Kaur Kapten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Txema Cerbera tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute Thomas Stenger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Txema Cerbera sped through Belgium's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Casper Claes. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edward Vanderstraeten to make the kick off. Kaur Kapten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yves Dervaux in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Txema Cerbera in the 75th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juliusz Sala got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Thomas Stenger. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Txema Cerbera in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casper Claes saved Belgium from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Modernians's Finn Maskell got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute of the match Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kaur Kapten skillfully saved the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Modernians's goalkeeper Kaur Kapten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with Kaur Kapten in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
