The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fabio Schneider took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mehmet Bilge Sonat. Mehmet Bilge Sonat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ's Kürşat Camcı looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fabio Schneider's late challenge caught a ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabio Schneider helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Schneider to maneuver through the defense. Arif Akkanoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Austria's zone, Uluç Turabi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Auer came out of the goal and Uluç Turabi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ's Mehmet Bilge Sonat got control of the ball when Sandro Galishoff tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Uluç Turabi in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Auer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes into the match, ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ's goalkeeper Mehmet Bilge Sonat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandro Galishoff. Rıfat Parshan made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ziya Ergenç immediately put the ball in play. If Uluç Turabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabio Schneider hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Kürşat Camcı received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Fabio Auer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Uluç Turabi made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonhard Maier in the 54th minute of play forced ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ's goalkeeper Mehmet Bilge Sonat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dilmen Şahinhan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Austria's Marc Kronecker got a free kick in the 66th minute. Fabio Auer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kürşat Camcı in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Sandro Galishoff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Bilge Sonat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, ⓜⓤⓢⓗⓛⓔⓔ ⓢⓚ's Kürşat Camcı sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Auer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leonhard Maier kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
