Felipe Barreto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pepe Toxeiro having to make a save. Pepe Toxeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, one of Portugal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Renato Tapia struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Club Celta de Vigo. Guillermo Marin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. If Rubén Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pepe Toxeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Renato Tapia might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Renato Tapia ran back to his position shaking his head. Real Club Celta de Vigo's Pepe Toxeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 60th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Rodolfo Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugal and the Real Club Celta de Vigo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Miranda. Real Club Celta de Vigo's Unai Nuñez was substituted for Cordera Unzueta. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Pepe Toxeiro threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bartolomeu Dias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 91 minutes into the game, Real Club Celta de Vigo's Everardo Arias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Pepe Toxeiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Graciano Coutinho in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Real Club Celta de Vigo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
