Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Aaron Kvist started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Croatia getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Silvije Santek hit a great ball. If Martin Bosak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Leeds United FC booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Bosak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilija Skugor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Kvist in the 21st minute of play. Elliott Levander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Mauzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Neven Culina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elliott Levander. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Kvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Aaron Kvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Ilija Skugor made a huge save. When Teo Gudelj fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Croatia's protests and gave Teo Gudelj a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Croatia got a freekick which was hit by Teo Gudelj. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toni Mauzer made a kick off. The supporters of Croatia booed when Leeds United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink in the 80th minute of play. If Aaron Kvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sonny Classon kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. If Martin Bosak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. Sonny Classon's late challenge caught a Croatia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Croatia were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Leeds United FC's much stronger midfield.
