After 73 played minutes Esbjerg fB got a freekick which was hit by Teddy Øxbøg. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Wawrzyniec Walicki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The corner ended in Ib Dalsted almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Germany's Tommy Kahn did a great save. Esbjerg fB's 于震树 managed to work through Germany's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. 于震树 dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The Esbjerg fB fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Esbjerg fB's 于震树 looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 于震树, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If 于震树 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Esbjerg fB had played much better football throughout.
