The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ergo Muro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Delfim Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Italy's attentive Siricio Liotta managed to snatch the ball when Ezequiel Nunes made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game. Ergo Muro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Caatiba MZC got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Nunes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

51 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Bertassi came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 played minutes Caatiba MZC got a freekick which was hit by Natã Siqueira. 81 minutes into the match, Rodriguinho Linhares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodriguinho Linhares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy made a substitution. Guiscardo Davide replaced Sigfrido Auletta. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
