An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy Neves in the 16th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Carioca in the 19th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Felipe Barreto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Guillen Aguillar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felipe Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of Portugal booed when Atlético Guidovalense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Moura was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 53 minutes into the match, Atlético Guidovalense's Marco Löhr sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Atlético Guidovalense getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Álvaro Prata hit a great ball. Viriato Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ruy Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Atlético Guidovalense's Álvaro Prata got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillen Aguillar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruy Neves in the 63rd minute of play. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Portugal's attentive Felipinho Amorim managed to snatch the ball when Ruy Neves made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. Guillen Aguillar made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Graciano Coutinho sent off a good shot on target. 79 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Löhr came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chiquinho Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Graciano Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Atlético Guidovalense's Marco Löhr got a free kick in the 96th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Portugal were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Atlético Guidovalense side.
