But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Germany's Sven Krakouer got a free kick in the 18th minute. Márcio Leitão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from László Kovács, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thibaut Zengers in the 23rd minute of play. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from László Kovács in the 24th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Thibaut Zengers notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ignaz Pisula didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thibaut Zengers made a kick off. Albin Holweck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignaz Pisula having to interfere. Frank Sachs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Ignaz Pisula when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Frank Sachs hit a great ball. In the 63rd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Mergenthaler to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from László Kovács, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. László Kovács scored 4-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute László Kovács shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
