Metod Mlynar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Mathias Huiting made a huge save. When Pavol Koleno fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Slovakia's protests and gave Pavol Koleno a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Pavol Koleno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mathias Huiting took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vavrinec Koleno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ágætis Byrjun's Paul van Mol quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Zigmund Maliar, made in the 17th minute of the game. The throw-in from Patrick van der Valk in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Slovakia's Vít Biskup. A collision led to Ágætis Byrjun getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ton Kort hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Metod Mlynar got free with Mathias Huiting in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 26 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Paul van Mol. Pavol Koleno got a throw-in 31 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Metod Mlynar. Ágætis Byrjun's Mathias Huiting proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ágætis Byrjun from getting a goal against them. 36 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Mathias Huiting had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Metod Mlynar. Metod Mlynars short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Mathias Huiting to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pavol Koleno hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Henrich Slany came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Ágætis Byrjun's Arnout Boswijk. But to his dismay, Arnout Boswijk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Metod Mlynar made the kick off in the second half. Ágætis Byrjun's Lucien de Ridder quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Kornel Jahoda, made in the 52nd minute of the game. A collision led to Ágætis Byrjun getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Lucien de Ridder hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Reitsma came free, but Henrich Slany reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun's Arnout Boswijk stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Henrich Slany stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Slovakia of the goal. Mathias Huiting made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Lucien de Ridder made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Slovakia's Ondrej Biskup.
