With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cezar Cucu in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nechifor Păunescu could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Nechifor Păunescu in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
