After 15 played minutes Salamanca UDS got a freekick which was hit by Tugay Okkan. In the 20th minute, David Holmstedt made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Saip Baltaş was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felipe Barreto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 24 minute of play. Saip Baltaş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Felipe Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute Leopold Heinloo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the game, Tugay Okkan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 62 played minutes Salamanca UDS got a freekick which was hit by Tugay Okkan. In the 69th match minute, Salamanca UDS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tugay Okkan to maneuver through the defense. Felipinho Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Saip Baltaş having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Caetano Moreira got a free kick in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipinho Amorim in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saip Baltaş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Saip Baltaş showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipinho Amorim in the 85th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Salamanca UDS defense, Felipinho Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Saip Baltaş. The Salamanca UDS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Saip Baltaş should have stopped the shot. Kamel Espitalier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saip Baltaş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipinho Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salamanca UDS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
