Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Dagoberto Sandoval tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Dagoberto Sandoval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Mandrak in the 29th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wachirapong Wattanachinda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 31st minute. Vladislav Katúrov hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Baal Grunberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Wachirapong Wattanachinda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
