Nechifor Păunescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camille Baume, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10thth minute of the game Cezar Cucu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but France's Maxime Durand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Fotbal Club Otelul Galati fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Cezar Cucu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Maxime Durand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezar Cucu in the 16th minute of play. The Fotbal Club Otelul Galati fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Cezar Cucu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Maxime Durand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gelu Alexandrescu in the 32nd minute of the match. After 34 minutes France's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Denis Dorlea who took care of the corner kick. Nechifor Păunescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Peletier in the 35th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cezar Cucu in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxime Durand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gelu Alexandrescu's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Cezar Cucu came free, but Maxime Durand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cezar Cucu in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maxime Durand prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Nechifor Păunescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camille Baume in the 52nd minute of play. Cezar Cucu succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. Robert Chapuis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Camille Baume fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored France's protests and gave Camille Baume a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Camille Baume. France's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Cezar Cucu scored to the left of an out of position Maxime Durand, making the score, 0-6. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's Petre Săliştean was substituted for 龙冰文. 74 minutes into the match, Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Peletier came free, but Nechifor Păunescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Chapuis took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nechifor Păunescu. Nechifor Păunescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Frank Peletier got in the 81st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Nechifor Păunescu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Camille Baume had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nechifor Păunescu. Fotbal Club Otelul Galati's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Camille Baume was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. Cezar Cucu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Maxime Durand when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of France booed when Fotbal Club Otelul Galati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Dorlea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Fotbal Club Otelul Galati supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fotbal Club Otelul Galati would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
