In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind PALMEIRAS-UTAH's goalkeeper Truman Harrington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Truman Harrington made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Major Barna sent off a good shot on target. 24 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Aloísio Lima came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Balazs Lajos got free with Truman Harrington in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Truman Harrington showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Alexandru Eugen might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fodor Daniel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandru Eugen ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 46 minutes, Takacs Tibor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Takacs Tibor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Bailey Kerns was substituted for Alexandru Eugen.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bailey Kerns was the one to do the kick off. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Hungary lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
