After 8 minutes Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers managed, with a little bit of luck, save Ortzi Calzado's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. After 11 played minutes Şamaxı Bankirlər got a freekick which was hit by Cezary Pierz. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Mänsur Rzayev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, David Eikelkamp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ortzi Calzado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Ortzi Calzado sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th minute, Tolek Dankowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mänsur Rzayev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mänsur Rzayev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 36th minute of the match. Ortzi Calzado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ortzi Calzado to make the kick off. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tolek Dankowski in the 52nd minute of the match. After 53 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. In the 55th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mänsur Rzayev was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 57th minute Tolek Dankowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute Şamaxı Bankirlər were awarded a corner. Hugo Neiva went to the cornerflag to take it. With a little luck, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Mänsur Rzayev got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mänsur Rzayev having to interfere. With a little luck, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Mänsur Rzayev got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Lars Meesters was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Luiz Eduardo Aparecido's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
