The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edward Vanderstraeten in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Truman Harrington saved PALMEIRAS-UTAH from getting behind. When Luis Livingston fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PALMEIRAS-UTAH's protests and gave Luis Livingston a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, PALMEIRAS-UTAH was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Livingston to maneuver through the defense. PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Truman Harrington proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save PALMEIRAS-UTAH from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute Jorge Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Truman Harrington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yves Dervaux in the 14th minute of the match. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Truman Harrington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aloísio Lima in the 34th minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Truman Harrington having to make a save. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aloísio Lima in the 37th minute of play. Belgium's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 42nd minute. Truman Harrington made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute, PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Luis Livingston seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luis Livingston the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of PALMEIRAS-UTAH protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luis Livingston had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PALMEIRAS-UTAH! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Bailey Kerns was substituted for Alexandru Eugen. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Vanderstraeten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Sander Dermaut hit a great ball. PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Reyes Boyle shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Casper Claes but with some difficulty. The throw-in from Siebe Michiels in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Charlton Livingston. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joachim Backlund in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Sander Dermaut got a free kick in the 59th minute. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dominik Olchawa in the 66th minute of play. After 67 played minutes PALMEIRAS-UTAH got a freekick which was hit by Charlton Livingston. PALMEIRAS-UTAH made a substitution. Vito Gaines replaced Leonardo Frazier. Charlton Livingston kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After some careless play in the PALMEIRAS-UTAH defense, Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Truman Harrington. The PALMEIRAS-UTAH fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Truman Harrington should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Edward Vanderstraeten sped through PALMEIRAS-UTAH's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Truman Harrington. Casper Claes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bailey Kerns in the 75th minute. Truman Harrington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yves Dervaux in the 77th minute of play. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nigel Devos hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Truman Harrington narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yves Dervaux to maneuver through the defense. Truman Harrington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 87th minute of the match. In the 90thth minute of the game Edward Vanderstraeten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PALMEIRAS-UTAH's Truman Harrington was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Truman Harrington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 92nd minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Bailey Kerns came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Belgium fans cheered their team off the field, for while PALMEIRAS-UTAH had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
