Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Catalin Haldan's Frédson Melo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Catalin Haldan getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Olimpiu Pociu hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, Hungary's Antal Valentin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olavi Liib narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Mugurel Onete fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catalin Haldan's protests and gave Mugurel Onete a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavi Liib saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Takacs Tibor in the 19th minute of play forced Catalin Haldan's goalkeeper Olavi Liib to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Liviu Fințescu kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Radu Curea hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. If Takacs Tibor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olavi Liib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Takacs Tibor, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antal Valentin in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olavi Liib prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 30 minutes, Antal Valentin made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Catalin Haldan's Olavi Liib tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frédson Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Balazs Lajos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes in the game, Antal Valentin dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 44th minute, Frédson Melo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fodor Daniel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antal Valentin to make the kick off. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavi Liib having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, Catalin Haldan's goalkeeper Olavi Liib had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Cazimir Răcănel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Hungary's Olavi Liib threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Takacs Tibor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Olavi Liib made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 65th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Catalin Haldan's goalkeeper Olavi Liib had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. Catalin Haldan's Olavi Liib proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Catalin Haldan from getting a goal against them. Antal Valentin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Olavi Liib came out and tried to block the shot, but Antal Valentin slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 77th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Frédson Melo came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Major Barna came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Major Barna couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute of the match Mihail Botgros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fodor Daniel skillfully saved the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frédson Melo during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Hungary booed when Catalin Haldan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frédson Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olavi Liib showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 92nd minute of the match. When the match was over Hungary could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Catalin Haldan throughout the match.
