The audience was convinced that Omar Toledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Egun Pais was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Gabriel Ascaso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carles Cherro got free with Egun Pais in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 98th minute Sergio Ruiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Many of Spain's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Spain may have spent more time on the ball, but Floresta Negra FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
