The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Robins got free with Arnout Reekers in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the match, Guido Pagomari notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. William Symons hit a great ball. Mayo's Alexander Bird played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 25th minute of play. Alexander Bird came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Burton in the 32nd minute of the match. Alex Burton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick Robins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Arnout Reekers skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If William Symons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charlie Chamberlain kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Bird saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Mayo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guido Pagomari to make the kick off. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Pagomari in the 54th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alex Burton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Farmer in the 63rd minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Robins, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Alexander Bird showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexander Bird read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Mayo made a substitution. Evelio Goren replaced Patrick Robins. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alexander Bird in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 84 minutes into the game, Mayo's Johnnie Osbourn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Des Gill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Des Gill went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnnie Osbourn in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute Des Gill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Des Gill came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
