Gustaf Ahlström took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Teofil Lewicki in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Aristide Beșliu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 27th minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Sigfrido Auletta notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Honung's Aristide Beșliu. Aristide Beșliu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaf Ahlström came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. Zaccheo Andolina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Teofil Lewicki in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Eliseo Cutri. Aristide Beșliu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 57th minute of play. Gustaf Ahlström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Flavio Vittori made a huge save. 65 minutes into the match, Honung's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Aristide Beșliu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Gustaf Ahlström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Vittori was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Lertora. Honung's Rune Fredriksson was substituted for Juan Manuel Vargas. Eliseo Cutri made in the 82nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gianpaolo Mascari however managed to control. 84 minutes into the game, Angel Lehoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. In the 91st minute Porziano Marchitelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristide Beșliu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adriano Curto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aristide Beșliu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Although Italy had been in control for most of the match, Honung still came away with the win.
